Canada-US Border Restrictions to End October 1

The Canadian federal government is officially ending all COVID-19 restrictions at borders on Saturday, October 1, 2022.

As of October 1, 2022, all travellers, regardless of citizenship, will no longer have to:

  • Submit public health information through the ArriveCAN app or online

  • Provide proof of vaccination

  • Undergo pre-arrival or on-arrival testing

  • Carry out COVID-19 quarantine or isolation

  • Monitor and report if they develop signs or symptoms of COVID-19 upon arriving to Canada

  • Undergo health checks for travel by air or rail

  • Wear masks on planes and trains

These measures also apply to cruise ships. Therefore, passengers will no longer be required to take pre-board tests, be vaccinated, or use ArriveCAN.
