The County of Essex is requiring masks in all County of Essex facilities as of 8:00 AM, Tuesday, November 15, 2022. These facilities include the Civic Centre, Library branches, ambulance bases, Sun Parlor Home, and road depots.
The announcement came after the Chief Medical Officer of Health of Ontario, Dr. Kieran Moore, announced that masking was "strongly recommended" for Ontarians due to a mixed threat of COVID-19, the flu, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) that is rising in Ontario and causing a strain on the healthcare system.
However, the announcement fell short of a mandate, meaning there is no requirement to wear a mask unless otherwise announced by government or health unit.
