Daily Forecast: February 9, 2023
Heavy rain is expected across the region tomorrow, along with strong wind gusts and warm temperatures. Some areas will see a brief period of freezing rain, while areas in the Ottawa Valley and Eastern Ontario see a prolonged period of freezing rain.
Special Weather Statements and Wind Warnings have been issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada for the region due to the heavy rainfall. In addition, strong wind gusts of up to 80 km/h are possible. Areas within the Wind Warning will likely see wind gusts of 90 to 100 km/h. Ensure any loose outdoor objects are secured or brought inside. Power outages are possible.
Flooding will be possible due to the heavy rainfall, as the frozen ground may not be able to fully absorb the rain. Never drive through flooded roads. Keep children and pets away from rivers and streams. Non-severe thunderstorms are also possible, and some thunderstorms may produce stronger wind gusts. If outdoors, be aware of the risk of lightning.
Freezing Rain Warnings have been issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada as well. Many areas in Midwestern Ontario will see a period of freezing rain in the morning. Areas in the Ottawa Valley and Eastern Ontario will see a longer period of freezing rain beginning in the afternoon.
Temperatures tomorrow will range from 2°C to 13°C across the region.
