Daily Forecast: January 12, 2023



Light rain will move into the region tomorrow morning and continue across the region throughout the day. By the afternoon, the rain will become steadier and heavier across the region. Eastern Ontario will see snow showers throughout the day, with local amounts of 2 to 6 cm expected.


Freezing drizzle is expected through Midwestern Ontario tonight. Be aware of potential icy conditions on roads and sidewalks.


Special Weather Statements have been issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada for much of Southern Ontario. Heavy rainfall of 15 to 30 mm is possible through Thursday. As heavy rainfall is forecasted, watch for flooded areas, especially due to the ground remaining frozen in many areas. Never attempt to drive through flooded roads.


Freezing rain is possible in Eastern Ontario tomorrow as precipitation transitions from rain to snow in the afternoon and evening hours. Be aware of potential icy conditions on roads and sidewalks.


Winter Storm Watches have been issued for Eastern Ontario by Environment and Climate Change Canada. 15 to 30 cm of snow is expected, with poor visibility expected as well.
