Daily Forecast: January 24, 2023



Cloudy skies are expected across most of the region tomorrow. There will be a slight chance of flurries, especially near Barrie, where snow off Georgian Bay will continue through the day.


A quick burst of snow is expected tomorrow morning, just in time for the morning commute. Snowfall accumulations across the region are expected to be only a few centimeters, however, slippery road conditions will be possible. Some areas may see patchy freezing drizzle.


A Winter Weather Travel Advisory has been issued for the Barrie - Orillia - Midland area by Environment and Climate Change Canada. Snow is expected off Georgian Bay throughout the day tomorrow, with total snowfall amounts of 10 cm possible. Roads may become snow covered and slippery due to accumulating snow.


We continue to monitor a winter storm for mid-week. Special Weather Statements remain in effect from Environment and Climate Change Canada. At this time, we expect snow to move into the region on Wednesday morning, become heavy for the afternoon and evening, and continue overnight into Thursday. The afternoon commute on Wednesday and morning commute may be impacted. Blowing and drifting snow will be possible. Stay tuned for further forecast details that will be posted tomorrow.
