Daily Forecast: January 28, 2023



Cloudy skies are on the table again for tomorrow. It will be a relatively quiet day across the region before we begin looking ahead to a system for Sunday and cold temperatures beginning next week.


Wind gusts of up to 70 km/h are expected across the region into tomorrow morning. Many areas have reported whiteout conditions, as well as blowing and drifting snow tonight. Poor travel is expected across the region tonight. If you are able to stay home tonight, please stay home to allow road crews to take care of the roads. Conditions will begin to improve tomorrow morning as the winds begin to ease.


Winter Weather Travel Advisories remain in effect for some regions tonight from Environment and Climate Change Canada. These areas may see 5 to 10 cm of snow, along with poor visibility due to the strong wind gusts.


As we continue to watch a system moving into the region on Sunday. There is still much uncertainty with the details of the system, including the type of precipitation and the amount of precipitation. Stay tuned for further forecast updates.
