Daily Forecast: January 4, 2023

Tomorrow will bring multiple types of weather to the region. Rain will continue across the region throughout the day, changing over to freezing rain and ice pellets in Eastern Ontario later in the afternoon as temperatures drop. The heaviest rain is expected in Niagara where a Rainfall Warning remains in effect.

Freezing rain is expected through the Huntsville, Bancroft, Peterborough and Kingston areas where Freezing Rain Warnings have been issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada. Ottawa will mainly see ice pellets with this system with snow and freezing rain, hence the Winter Weather Travel Advisory being issued. Be aware of prolonged slippery conditions on roadways and sidewalks. We will have more details on expected impacts posted tomorrow morning to provide you with the most accurate information.

Areas under the Special Weather Statement from Environment and Climate Change Canada will see the potential for light freezing rain, which may create slippery conditions on roadways and sidewalks.

Fog will continue to develop across the region tonight. Fog Advisories have been issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada as well. If driving, slow down, turn on your full lighting system, and watch for taillights ahead.

High temperatures will range from 1°C to 7°C across the region.
