Extreme Cold Takes Hold Thursday Night



Extreme Cold will move into the region tonight, bringing very cold wind chills into parts of Eastern Ontario. Temperatures will slowly begin to warm late Friday morning. The coldest wind chills expected are -35ºC to -40ºC.


Area Breakdown:

-35ºC to -40ºC: Oshawa, Peterborough, Belleville, Kington, Brockville, Cornwall, Ottawa and Bancroft

-30ºC to -35ºC: Toronto, Markham, Barrie, Newmarket, Midland, Parry Sound, Bracebridge, Huntsville, Barry's Bay

-25ºC to -30ºC: St. Catharines, Hamilton, Oakville, Kitchener, Orangeville, Collingwood

-20ºC to -25ºC: Brantford, Woodstock, Stratford, Goderich, Kincardine, Listowel, Owen Sound, Tobermory

-15ºC to -20ºC: Windsor, Chatham, Sarnia, London, St. Thomas, Simcoe


Environment Canada has issued Extreme Cold Warnings for much of Eastern Ontario and Cottage Country.
