UPDATE: Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Thursday into Friday
A system will move into Southern Ontario late in the evening on Thursday and with it will come heavy rain and very strong wind gusts.
Above is our Rainfall Outlook. For Chatham-Kent, Elgin County, the Niagara Region and Windsor-Essex, 20 to 30 mm of rain is expected by Friday night. For the rest of the region, 30 to 40 mm of rain is expected. Locally higher amounts are possible if thunderstorms develop.
Above is our Wind Outlook. Most of the region, stretching from Windsor, Sarnia, Goderich and
Niagara Falls can expect wind gusts of 100 to 110 km/h. There is the potential for local wind gusts of near 115 km/h in this area.
Further east, areas such as Hamilton, Kincardine and Listowel can expect wind gusts of 90 to 100 km/h.
Areas such as Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo can expect wind gusts of 80 to 90 km/h.
All areas east of this, such as Toronto, can expect wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h.
