Low Severe Weather Risk Friday Night

There will be a low risk for severe weather in Southwestern Ontario tonight as storms move in from the United States. The rest of the region will likely see non-severe thunderstorms.

The main risk will be in Extreme Southwestern Ontario (Windsor, Leamington, Chatham, Sarnia and London). These thunderstorms are expected to mainly produce frequent lightning, heavy rain, and may have the potential for small hail and strong wind gusts. The thunderstorms are expected to move in this evening, likely between 8 and 9 PM. The thunderstorms will continue overnight.

Further east, the thunderstorms are expected to lose their energy and produce heavy rain and frequent lightning, likely making them non-severe thunderstorms.

This is our first Severe Weather Outlook of the year!
