Friday will bring a much colder day across the area, along with snow and some snow squalls. Multiple weather alerts are in effect.

Rain will continue overnight with some heavier periods of rain possible. Rain will transition to snow as temperatures plummet overnight. Watch for icy road conditions overnight and through tomorrow morning. Residual water, slush and moisture will freeze, and some snow is expected on top of the ice. Allow extra time for your morning commute.

Narrow bands of heavy snow are expected across the entire region tomorrow, leading to rapid reductions in visibility and roads may quickly become snow covered. Snow Squall Watches are in effect for the snowbelt regions, where 5 to 15 centimetres of snow is expected, along with blowing and drifting snow with poor travel conditions.

Wind Warnings and Special Weather Statements are also in effect, with wind gusts between 60 to 90 km/h expected throughout the day. The strongest wind gusts are expected to be along Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Ensure loose objects are secured. The wind will cause poor visibility in falling snow across the region.

Temperatures in blue represent forecasted wind chill values.
