Another snowy day will be the feature of your Sunday, bringing significant snowfall to some areas, as well as travel disruptions.
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for much of the region tonight, however some areas in Central Ontario are under Winter Weather Travel Advisories. Environment Canada has stated that travel will become hazardous and is not advised.
Snow will begin tracking into the area overnight, and will be heavy at times, with snowfall rates over 2 centimetres per hour expected, some areas may see near 5 centimetres per hour. The snow will end from west to east, beginning in the afternoon. As the snow moves out, some bands of lake effect snow will begin moving in.
Strong wind gusts are expected tomorrow, with the potential for wind gusts of 80 to 90 km/h in portions of Eastern Ontario. Blowing and drifting snow is expected across the region, leading to poor visibility.
Consider postponing travel tomorrow as conditions are expected to be poor in many areas, and conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly. Visit the STORM CENTRE for the latest information.
