A snowy day is expected across the region Sunday, with some slight moderation from the cold temperatures.

Widespread snow will slowly move into Southern Ontario overnight and will persist through much of the day. Central Ontario will see snow beginning in the late morning to early afternoon, with Eastern Ontario likely seeing snow beginning late in the afternoon.

Road conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly through the day as snow falls and wind gusts of 40 km/h or higher create blowing and drifting snow. Poor road conditions are likely, along with poor visibility.

Cold Warnings (Yellow Level) remain in effect for Central and Eastern Ontario for tonight for wind chills near -40ºC for some areas.

Winter Storm Warnings (Orange Level) are in effect for the GTA due to significant snowfall amounts. Snowfall Warnings (Yellow Level) are in effect for much of the region. If possible, travel should be avoided tomorrow as conditions will likely be poor across the region. Visit the STORM CENTRE for the most updated information.
