A much colder day is expected across the region tomorrow, along with snow and blowing snow for many areas.
Rain will continue tonight across the area and will transition to snow as temperatures sharply become colder. Wet roads from snowmelt and the rain today are expected to become icy and slippery quickly. Take caution if travelling overnight and tomorrow morning. Snow will end from west to east beginning in the morning.
Strong wind gusts are expected tomorrow as well, with some areas seeing wind gusts of 70 km/h or greater. These areas are in a Blowing Snow Advisory, and snowfall amounts near 10 centimetres will be possible. Near zero visibility is expected in areas under the Blowing Snow Advisory, and road closures will be possible. Winter Weather Travel Advisories are in effect as well.
Fog Advisories are also in effect tonight for much of the region as fog has developed. Poor visibility is being reported in many areas. Slow down and drive with caution in areas of poor visibility. If this fog persists until the temperatures drop, freezing fog may develop, which will provide additional chances of icy and slippery conditions developing.
Special Weather Statements continue tonight due to the rain and flooding, as the ground will have difficulty absorbing the rainfall.
