Thursday will bring a cooler day with temperatures just above zero, however the wind will create wind chills below zero across the region.
Flurries are expected for many areas, with snow squalls in the forecast for areas off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. Snow Squall Warnings (Orange and Yellow levels) are in effect. Snowfall totals of 50 centimetres or greater are possible.
Due to strong wind gusts, extensive blowing and drifting snow is expected as snow squalls develop. Travel will become hazardous quickly. Avoid non-essential travel in areas under Snow Squall Warnings. Snowfall rates of 5 to 10 centimetres per hour are possible. Road closures are expected.
Special Weather Statements and Wind Warnings (Yellow level) remain in effect due to strong wind gusts. Winds will slowly ease tomorrow and into Friday.
