Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop Friday afternoon and evening across Southwestern and Midwestern Ontario. Conditions will be favourable for the development of these severe thunderstorms due to the hot and humid conditions.

The Elevated risk area includes Windsor, Chatham, Sarnia, London, Goderich, Kitchener, Kincardine, Tobermory, Owen Sound, Barrie, Huntsville and Parry Sound. In these areas, threats will include heavy rain, large hail, flooding, strong wind gusts up to 100 km/h and the threat of an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

The Low risk area covers the rest of the region, including Niagara Falls, Hamilton, Toronto, Peterborough, Kingston, Brockville, Cornwall, Ottawa and Bancroft. In these areas, the threat for severe thunderstorms will be lower, and threats will include heavy rain, flooding, strong wind gusts up to 80 km/h and frequent lightning.
