There will be an Elevated risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening, mainly in Midwestern, Central, and portions of Eastern Ontario.
We are expecting the environment to become favourable for severe weather later this afternoon and evening. The highest risk will be through Midwestern Ontario, the GTA, and portions of Central and Eastern Ontario. Threats in these areas will include Rainfall of 20 to 40 mm or greater, wind gusts up to 100 km/h, hail 2 to 3 cm in diameter, and the risk for an isolated tornado.
Additional risks will exist in Southwestern Ontario, portions of Eastern Ontario, as well as the Bruce Peninsula and Georgian Bay. In these areas, severe thunderstorms may develop with threats including Rainfall of 20 to 40 mm, wind gusts up to 80 km/h, and a low risk for hail.
Elevated Risk
Locations: Bancroft, Barrie, Barry's Bay, Cobourg, Goderich, Hamilton, Kincardine, Kitchener, Listowel, Oakville, Orangeville, Orillia, Oshawa, Ottawa, Stratford and Toronto.
Threats: Heavy rainfall of 20 to 40 mm or greater, wind gusts up to 100 km/h, hail 2 to 3 cm in diameter, and the risk for an isolated tornado.
Low Risk
Locations: Belleville, Bracebridge, Brantford, Brockville, Chatham, Collingwood, Cornwall, Grand Bend, Huntsville, Kingston, Leamington, London, Niagara Falls, Owen Sound, Parry Sound, Sarnia, Simcoe, St. Catharines, Tobermory, Windsor and Woodstock.
Threats: Heavy rainfall of 20 to 40 mm, wind gusts up to 80 km/h, and a low risk for hail.
