Freezing Rain Expected Monday Night into Tuesday

Freezing Rain will begin tonight into tomorrow morning for much of Central and Eastern Ontario. Many areas will likely see rain tonight before the transition to freezing rain begins overnight into the morning hours.

Roads and sidewalks, especially ones that are untreated, will become ice covered and slippery quickly.

The freezing rain may continue during the morning commute before ending later in the morning. The morning commute will likely be affected due to ice covered roads.

Wind gusts also may increase following the freezing rain, bringing the potential for power outages.

Freezing Rain Warnings and Special Weather Statements have been issued by Environment Canada.
