Heat Wave Expected to Begin This Weekend

A period of above average temperatures is forecasted for Southern Ontario, beginning this weekend (June 20th).


This week will remain fairly hot and humid, but the heat really kicks in by Saturday according to the latest data available.

The European model available shows that Southwestern Ontario, portions of the Golden Horseshoe, and the GTA will approach the 30ºC mark for Saturday. The forecasted high temperature for Windsor on Saturday is 32ºC. With high humidity, the forecasted humidex is 40ºC.

By Sunday, temperatures across the entire region are expected to be at or above 30ºC. The forecasted high temperature for Windsor is 37ºC, and with high humidity again, the forecasted humidex is 45ºC.

In chart form for Windsor, Ontario, the heat is expected to last through much of next week (June 21 to 28), with temperatures above 30ºC forecasted each day. Temperatures are expected to begin cooling down after next week.
