Strong wind gusts have already begun across much of the region, however winds will remain strong through the day Monday and into early Tuesday morning before easing.

Difficult travel conditions are expected this afternoon as snow squalls develop across the snow belt regions. Up to 25 centimetres of snow is expected, with locally higher amounts quite possible. Portions of Central and Eastern Ontario are expected to see some system snowfall, however we have included all expected snow in one outlook for simplicity reasons.

Much of the region will see snow showers and some snow squalls, any of which may reduce visibility at times, especially into Tuesday.

In combination with the strong wind gusts, extensive blowing and drifting snow is expected in the snow belt regions. Visibility will likely be zero at times and roads may become impassable due to the blowing and drifting snow. Travel should be avoided Monday evening into Tuesday. Conditions are expected to begin improving late Tuesday.

Wind gusts up to 90 km/h are expected across Southwestern Ontario, as well as Eastern Ontario including Belleville, Kingston, Brockville and Cornwall. Power outages are possible and loose objects may be tossed.
