Friday, May 22, 2022 looks like it may be the first severe weather event in Southern Ontario of the year.
There has been agreement among weather models which shows that the environment will be favourable for severe weather, including the potential for tornadoes.
At this time, it appears that the severe weather will start across the region between 4 and 5 PM on Friday, and end around 2 AM on Saturday. Hazards are expected to be Heavy Rain, Small Hail, Strong Winds and the potential for Tornadoes.
This event remains rather uncertain as it is 48 hours away. This post meant to provide awareness of the potential severe weather on Friday. Stay tuned for further updates.
Environment and Climate Change Canada has posted the forecast below for Friday. They highlight Georgian Bay and Huron Shores as the main areas for severe thunderstorm in the Moderate/Yellow area.
