Low Risk for Severe Weather Friday

There will be a Low risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening across Southwestern Ontario. Thunderstorms are expected to develop in Michigan and move into the region.


The Low risk area includes Windsor, Leamington, Chatham, Wallaceburg and Sarnia. In these areas, threats will include heavy rain, small hail, strong wind gusts up to 90 km/h, and the threat of an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.


The Very Low risk area includes London, St. Thomas, Grand Bend, Goderich and Kincardine. In these areas, threats will include heavy rain, strong wind gusts up to 80 km/h and frequent lightning.


The Non-Severe risk area includes Stratford, Listowel, Hanover, Port Elgin, Owen Sound and Tobermory. In these areas, thunderstorms are expected to stay below severe levels and threats will include heavy rain and frequent lightning.
