There will be a Low risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening, with the highest impacts expected in the Niagara Region.
Showers and thunderstorms will pass through the region today, with the potential for some thunderstorms to become severe. The bulk of the severe weather will likely remain stateside.

The Niagara region is in the Low risk area, which includes Crystal Beach, Dunnville, Fort Erie, Grimsby, Lincoln, Niagara Falls, Port Colborne, St. Catharines, Thorold, Welland and Wainfleet. Threats in these areas are expected to include rainfall of 20 to 40 millimetres, wind gusts up to 90 km/h and hail 1 to 2 centimetres in diameter. There will be the potential for flooding, as rainfall amounts over 20 millimetres within one hour will be possible.
Elsewhere, the Very Low risk area covers Southwestern Ontario, including Chatham, Leamington, London, Sarnia, Simcoe and Windsor. Threats in these areas are expected to include rainfall of 20 to 40 millimetres, and the potential for wind gusts up to 90 km/h.
The Non-Severe risk area covers much of Southern Ontario, including the Bruce Peninusla and the GTA. Heavy rainfall will be possible at times, but these thunderstorms are expected to remain below severe limits.
