Rogers and Fido customers are currently unable to access internet, access cellular reception, make phone calls, or use cable television across Canada. The majority of outage reports are coming from customers in Southern Ontario.
Rogers says they are currently working on fixing the issue.
Additionally, customers are not able to call 911 in the event of an emergency. Police departments are asking the public to use a cell phone with a different carrier to call 911 if there is an emergency.
Metrolinx has reported that tickets cannot be purchased using debit or credit payments at this time. Moneris is currently experiencing a nationwide outage of debit and credit services, which is impacting many retailers and restaurants, such as Tim Hortons and McDonald's.
There is currently no estimated time of restoration.
