Boxing Day will bring varying weather conditions across the region, including freezing rain, ice pellets, snow and strong wind gusts.
It is important to note that the type of precipitation will be heavily dependent on temperature. Even a change by half a degree can cause the precipitation type to change.
In Midwestern Ontario, including Goderich, Listowel and Stratford, the most likely precipitation type will be Ice Pellets. Ice Pellets can reduce traction on roadways. Freezing Rain and Snow will also be possible.
Freezing Rain is likely for Southwestern Ontario and will begin Friday morning, continuing into the early afternoon. Roadways and sidewalks will likely become slippery and ice covered quickly, especially if untreated. 6 to 10 millimetres of ice accretion is possible in the hardest hit areas.

Snow will be the predominant precipitation for Midwestern, Central and Eastern Ontario as well as the GTA. 10 to 15 centimetres will be possible for areas including Barrie, Belleville, Parry Sound, Tobermory and Toronto.

Strong wind gusts are also in the forecast for the area, with wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h possible in Midwestern Ontario, including Collingwood, Goderich, Grand Bend, Listowel and Tobermory. For areas receiving snowfall, blowing and drifting snow may lead to poor visibility. Power outages will be possible.

Freezing Rain Warnings (Yellow Level), Snowfall Warnings (Yellow Level) and Special Weather Statements remain in effect.
