Moderate Risk for Severe Weather Wednesday

There will be a Moderate risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening. Two rounds of severe thunderstorms are expected, with one round between 11 AM and 5 PM, and the second round between 6 PM and 1 AM.
Any thunderstorm today will bring the risk for flooding rainfall with 60 to 80 millimetres within one hour possible, bringing the risk for flash flooding, especially in low-lying areas.
The first round of severe thunderstorms is expected to bring heavy rainfall, the potential for strong winds up to 90 km/h, and a risk of an isolated tornado.
The second round of severe thunderstorms will be stronger, bringing further risks to the area. The Moderate risk area includes Windsor, Leamington, Chatham, Wallaceburg and Rondeau Park. These areas will see threats including rainfall of 60 to 80 millimetres, 1 or 2 tornadoes, wind gusts up to 100 km/h, hail 3 to 4 centimetres in diameter, as well as risks for both local flooding and flash flooding.

Locations: Amherstburg, Chatham, Dresden, Leamington, Pelee Island, Point Pelee, Ridgetown, Rondeau Park, Wallaceburg and Windsor
Threats: Rainfall of 60 to 80 millimetres, 1 or 2 tornadoes, wind gusts up to 100 km/h, hail 3 to 4 centimetres in diameter, as well as risks for both local flooding and flash flooding.
Elevated (Yellow)
Locations: Corunna, Dunnville, Hamilton, London, Long Point, Mooretown, Port Colborne, Sarnia, Simcoe, St. Catharines, St. Thomas and Woodstock
Threats: Rainfall of 60 to 80 millimetres, the risk for an isolated tornado, wind gusts up to 90 km/h, hail 2 to 3 centimetres in diameter, as well as risks for both local flooding and flash flooding.
Low (Light Green)
Locations: Brantford, Cambridge, Goderich,Grand Bend, Kitchener, Lucan, Oakville, Oshawa, Parkhill, Stratford, Toronto and Waterloo
Threats: Rainfall 60 to 80 millimetres, the risk for an isolated tornado, wind gusts up to 90 km/h, hail 1 to 2 centimetres, as well as risks for both local flooding and flash flooding.
Very Low (Green)
Locations: Barrie, Colborne, Kincardine, Lindsay, Listowel, Mount Forest, Orangeville, Owen Sound, Peterborough, Port Elgin, Tobermory, Wasaga Beach and Wingham
Threats: Rainfall 40 to 60 millimetres, wind gusts up to 80 km/h, and a risk for localized flooding.
Non-Severe (Seafoam)
Locations: Algonquin Park, Bancroft, Barry's Bay, Belleville, Bracebridge, Brockville, Cornwall, Gravenhurst, Kearney, Kingston, Midland, Orillia, Ottawa, Parry Sound, Petawawa, Renfrew and South River
Threats: Heavy rainfall with the risk of localized localized flooding.
