Moderate Severe Risk Saturday

There will be a Moderate risk in Southwestern Ontario this afternoon and evening, as well as into the overnight hours. Elevated and Low risks will exist across the Golden Horseshoe, Central Ontario, as well as Eastern Ontario.
The strongest thunderstorms are expected in Southwestern Ontario, as well as portions of the GTA. The Moderate risk area includes Windsor, Chatham, Sarnia, London, Stratford, Kitchener, Brantford, Hamilton and Burlington. Threats in these areas will include heavy rainfall of 60 to 80 mm, a risk for flash flooding as well as local flooding, the risk for an isolated tornado, wind gusts of 100 km/h or greater, and hail 2 to 3 cm in diameter.
Additional threats will exist across the rest of the region, encompassed within the Elevated and Low risk categories.

Moderate Risk
Locations: Brantford, Burlington, Chatham, Grand Bend, Guelph, Hamilton, Kitchener, Leamington, London, Pelee Island, Sarnia, St. Thomas, Stratford, Wallaceburg, Windsor and Woodstock.
Threats: Heavy rainfall of 60 to 80 mm, a risk for flash flooding, local flooding, the risk for an isolated tornado, wind gusts of 100 km/h or greater, and hail 2 to 3 cm in diameter.
Elevated Risk
Locations: Fort Erie, Goderich, Hanover, Kincardine, Listowel, Mississauga, Niagara Falls, Orangeville, Oshawa, Port Colborne, Simcoe, St. Catharines, Toronto and Vaughan.
Threats: Heavy rainfall of 40 to 60 mm, a risk for flooding, a low risk of an isolated tornado, wind gusts of 90 km/h, and hail 1 to 2 cm in diameter.
Low Risk
Locations: Alexandria, Algonquin Provincial Park, Bancroft, Barrie, Barry's Bay, Bayfield Inlet, Belleville, Brockville, Burk's Falls, Collingwood, Cornwall, Franktown, Haliburton, Hawkesbury, Huntsville, Kingston, Midland, Orillia, Ottawa, Owen Sound, Parry Sound, Pembroke, Peterborough, Prince Edward, Renfrew and Tobermory.
Threats: Heavy rainfall of 20 to 40 mm, wind gusts up to 90 km/h, and a low risk for small hail.
As of 1:10 PM, Severe Thunderstorm Watches have been issued by Environment Canada.
