Ontario Daily Forecast: August 17, 2024

Rain and thunderstorms are expected across the region throughout the day tomorrow. It is expected that there will be some breaks in the rain for all areas.

Special Weather Statements have been issued for much of the region by Environment Canada. They state that local rainfall amounts of 40 to 80 mm are expected, with the potential for rainfall rates of up to 40 mm in an hour.

Flooding is expected to be an issue across the region due to thunderstorms that may produce torrential downpours, or slow moving rain showers. Environment Canada has stated that Rainfall Warnings may be required and issued on short notice to reflect rapidly changing weather conditions. Never drive through a flooded roadway and keep children and pets away from rivers and streams.
