In a press conference Monday morning, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced that Ontario will be moving to Phase 2 of reopening on February 17, 2022 based on the key COVID-19 indicators.
Effective February 17, 2022 at 12:01 AM:
All capacity limits removed in restaurants, bars, casinos, bingo halls, gyms, cinemas and meeting and event spaces
50% capacity: sport arenas, theatres and concert venues
25% capacity: nightclubs, restaurants that include dancing, bathhouses and sex clubs
Weddings, funerals and religious services will be capped at the number of people who can maintain a 2 metre distance
Social gathering limits of 50 people or less indoors, 100 people or less outdoors
Organized public event limits of 50 people or less indoors, no limit outdoors
Effective March 1, 2022:
All capacity limits removed
All proof of vaccination requirements removed, however, businesses can continue requiring it if desired
Mask requirements remain in place
