In a press conference Wednesday afternoon, Doug Ford, Stephen Lecce and Christine Elliot announced that schools in Ontario will remain closed until September due to the ongoing impacts of COVID-19.
Doug Ford said during the press conference that the risks are too high to return to in-person learning. The modelling shows that reopening schools will lead to thousands of new cases. As the province's vaccine rollout increases, the province wants to vaccinate more students and teachers, and return to a normal school year in September.
It was also announced that Doug Ford wants outdoor graduations to take place for all students in all grades this year.
