Ontario Strengthens Stay-at-Home Order

In a press conference Friday afternoon, Premier Doug Ford and Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health provided an update on COVID-19 restrictions in the province.


The stay-at-home order has been extended by two weeks and will now end on May 19, 2021.


Restrictions:

  • No outdoor gatherings except with people in your household.

  • You must stay at home, unless you are going out for essential reasons such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services (including vaccination appointments), for exercise or for work that can not be done from home.

  • Residential evictions are suspended.


Open:

  • All Non-Essential Retail - Curbside Pickup from 7am to 8pm and Delivery from 6am to 9pm

  • Big Box Stores - Groceries, Household Cleaning Supplies, Pharmacy items, Personal Care items and pet care supplies ONLY - 25% capacity

  • Businesses that sell, rent or repair mobile or medical devices - 25% capacity

  • Cannabis Stores - Curbside Pickup 9am to 8pm and Delivery 9am-9pm

  • Dealerships that sell vehicles, boats or other watercraft - 25% capacity

  • Eyewear Stores - 25% capacity

  • Grocery Stores - 25% capacity

  • Indoor and Outdoor Garden Centres - 7am to 8pm at 25% capacity

  • Libraries - Contactless Curbside, Delivery or Pick-Up ONLY

  • Liquor Stores (including Beer, Wine and Spirits) - 7am to 8pm at 25% capacity, 6am-9pm delivery

  • Parks

  • Pharmacies - 25% capacity

  • Restaurants - Takeout, Drive-Thru and Delivery ONLY

  • Retail Stores operated by Telecommunications Providers - 25% capacity

  • Safety Supply Stores - 25% capacity

  • Shopping Malls - Curbside Pickup and Delivery

  • Vehicle and Equipment Repair - 25% capacity

  • Weddings, funerals and other religious services, rites or ceremonies - 10% capacity


Closed:

  • Amusement parks, water parks

  • Bathhouses and sex clubs

  • Basketball courts

  • Casinos, bingo halls and gaming establishments

  • Camping

  • Concert venues, theatres and cinemas (includes drive in or drive through events)

  • Day camps

  • Golf Courses

  • Horse racing (open for training only, no races or spectators)

  • Indoor and outdoor sports and recreational amenities

  • Personal Fitness

  • Motorsports

  • Museums and cultural amenities

  • Personal care services

  • Schools

  • Soccer fields

  • Tour and guide services

  • Zoos and aquariums (permitted to operate for the care of animals)
