Daily Forecast: April 12, 2024

Rain has redeveloped and will be moving back into the area tonight and through the day tomorrow. We are expecting some heavier pockets of rain once again which could increase rainfall totals.

Strong wind gusts will develop across the region tomorrow. The strongest wind gusts are expected in Midwestern Ontario and along the Lake Huron shoreline, where wind gusts of 100 to 110 km/h are expected. Most of the region will see wind gusts up to 80 km/h. Power outages will be possible due to the strong winds. Secure any outdoor objects or bring them inside.

Special Weather Statements continue across the area tonight due to heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts expected. Flooding will be possible tomorrow as rain continues. Some roads may become washed out or flooded over. Never drive through a flooded roadway.

Fog has also developed across portions of the region, particularly in higher elevations. Fog Advisories have been issued by Environment Canada. Slow down and drive with caution in areas of poor visibility.

As temperatures fall tomorrow evening and overnight, rain will transition to snow for some areas. It is still slightly uncertain where the transition between rain and snow will occur. A further update will be posted in the STORM CENTRE tomorrow.

Finally, there may be a threat for severe weather in far Eastern Ontario during the afternoon and early evening hours. More details will be posted tomorrow.
