Daily Forecast: February 27, 2024

Rain is expected across the region tomorrow, along with the potential for thunderstorms through the day. Between the rain, mainly cloudy skies are expected.

Temperatures will be far above seasonal tomorrow, likely breaking records in many areas. The warm temperatures will also fuel a risk for some potentially severe weather late tomorrow evening. We continue to monitor the potential for severe thunderstorms to move into Southwestern Ontario, including areas such as Windsor, Sarnia and Chatham. Exact threats still need to be confirmed, however we believe they will include flooding, strong wind gusts and small to large hail.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, we continue to monitor a very dramatic shift in the weather that will take place across the region. We are expecting rain to move into the area for the day before the temperature drops rapidly, changing precipitation to ice pellets and snow. Any surfaces that become wet from the rain will freeze rapidly and may create significant travel delays.

We will be creating a full STORM CENTRE update tomorrow regarding both the severe weather threat and the flash freeze threat. Please stay tuned for further updates.

High temperatures will range from 11°C to 20°C across the region.
