Rain will continue across the region tonight and will become heavier throughout the day tomorrow. The rain is expected to continue until late tomorrow before slowly tapering off. The bulk of the rain is expected across Southwestern and Eastern Ontario.
Many areas still have frozen ground due to the colder temperatures earlier this week. Due to the ground being frozen, it will have a harder time absorbing all the water from the falling rain. Flooding is possible, and multiple Conservation Authorities have issued flood-related alerts. For more information on those alerts, check with your local Conservation Authority.
Area Breakdown
20 to 30 mm: Windsor, Chatham Sarnia, London, St. Thomas, Woodstock, Stratford, Brantford and Hamilton.
10 to 20 mm: Simcoe, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Goderich, Barrie, Toronto, Peterborough, Bancroft, Huntsville and Parry Sound.
5 to 10 mm: Kincardine, Collingwood, Owen Sound, Wiarton and Tobermory.
For the areas most impacted by the rain, Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Rainfall Warning. They state that upwards of 35 mm of rain is possible, and flooding is possible due to the frozen ground.
If travelling, remember to not drive through flooded roadways. TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN!
