Strong Winds Expected Friday

Strong wind gusts will move into Southern Ontario on Friday morning, strengthening throughout the day before slowly easing Friday night.


On Friday morning, wind gusts of 60 to 70 km/h are expected across most of Southern Ontario. Wind gusts of 50 to 60 km/h are expected in the Niagara region, the Golden Horseshoe and the GTA.


The winds will strengthen Friday afternoon, when areas near London, Kitchener, Goderich and Simcoe can expect wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h. Elsewhere, wind gusts of 60 to 70 km/h are expected.


The winds will ease slightly in Extreme Southwestern Ontario on Friday evening when wind gusts of 40 to 50 km/h and 50 to 60 km/h can be expected. East of this area, wind gusts of 60 to 70 km/h are likely. In the Hamilton and GTA, the winds will strengthen where we expect wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h.
