Rainfall, heavy at times, will be moving into the region tonight into Wednesday morning. Rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 millimetres are expected for many areas.
Given that the ground is still frozen in many areas, it will be difficult for the ground to absorb the rainfall, leading to lots of runoff. Some ponding water on roadways is expected, along with the potential for some localized flooding.
By Wednesday morning, rain will begin to taper to showers across much of the area. However, by the afternoon and evening, there is the potential for some thunderstorms to develop. These are expected to be non-severe in nature, however some heavy downpours will be possible, leading to additional flooding risks.
Local Conservation Authorities have flood related messages in effect. The Catfish Creek Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Warning, stating that "very high potential for flooding to occur in flood prone areas of the watershed."

Rainfall Warnings and Special Weather Statements have been issued by Environment Canada.
