Severe Thunderstorm Warning Ended

Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for:

  • Cobourg - Colborne - Western Northumberland County


At 2:41 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts and up to toonie size hail. This severe thunderstorm is located 8 kilometres north of Osaca, moving east at 50 km/h. Hazard: Toonie size hail and 100 km/h wind gusts. A tornado is also possible. Locations impacted include: Bewdley, Rossmount, Camborne and Baltimore.


Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
