As the hot and humid weather continues, we are expecting some severe thunderstorms to develop throughout Eastern Ontario this afternoon and evening.
Threats will include heavy rain, small hail, flooding, strong wind gusts up to 100 km/h, and the potential for an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
The Elevated risk includes Ottawa, Prescott and Russell and Cornwall. In these areas, threats will include heavy rain, small hail, flooding, strong wind gusts, and the threat of an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
The Low risk includes Brighton, Belleville, Napanee, Kingston, Brockville, Renfrew and Perth. In these areas, threats will include heavy rain, small hail, flooding and strong wind gusts.
The Very Low risk includes Barry's Bay, Bancroft, Peterborough and Cobourg. In these areas, threats will include heavy rain, small hail and local flooding.
The Non-Severe risk includes Toronto, Parry Sound, Huntsville, Bracebridge, Midland, Orillia, Barrie, Newmarket, Markham and Oshawa. In these areas, threats will include heavy rain and the potential for local flooding.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Eastern Ontario by Environment and Climate Change Canada.
