Discussion

Severe thunderstorms are expected across Southern Ontario throughout the day on Wednesday. Weather models have had some difficulty handling this particular event, resulting in some uncertainty.


The main threat area will be Central and Eastern Ontario, where it appears that a large cluster of thunderstorms will develop this afternoon.

Severe Weather Outlook


The highest risk today is the Moderate/Orange area, where there is the threat for heavy rain, small hail, damaging wind gusts of 100 km/h, and the potential for a few tornadoes.


Within the Elevated/Yellow area, the threats will be heavy rain, small hail, damaging wind gusts of 90 km/h, and the risk for an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.


For the Low/Green area, the threats will be heavy rain and small hail.
