Discussion

Snow squalls continue across the region today, mainly across Central, Eastern and Midwestern Ontario. As snow squalls set up through the Pickering and Belleville area, poor travel is expected along Highway 401. Travel with caution or postpone travel until conditions improve.

The snow squalls will slowly begin weakening tomorrow, finishing up by the evening hours.

Some strong wind gusts, possibly 60-70 km/h, are expected to move into the area for Saturday. Due to the already fallen snow and the potential for some additional snowfall Saturday morning, these strong wind gusts are expected to cause blowing and drifting snow, causing poor travel conditions across the region.

This STORM CENTRE was scheduled to expire Friday evening, however it may be extended due to the expected snow and strong winds for Saturday.
