Discussion

The winter storm will move into Southern Ontario early Thursday morning. The precipitation will begin as rain and will continue for a few hours.

Near noon, temperatures will begin to fall across the region, which will force the rain to transition to freezing rain for Southwestern Ontario. Late in the evening, the precipitation will change to snow, which will be heavy at times. Snowfall rates may near 4 cm per hour.

Road conditions will deteriorate on Thursday night with the falling snow in addition to strong wind gusts, which will create blowing and drifting snow. The Friday morning commute will also be affected as the wind gusts will remain strong.
