Discussion
A system will move into Southern Ontario on Sunday night, bringing major snowfall to parts of the region. The hardest hit areas will be Niagara, Ottawa and Eastern Ontario, where upwards of 40 cm is expected.
The height of this winter storm will be early Monday morning, where intense snowfall rates of near 5 cm/hour are possible, along with wind gusts of up to 65 km/h. Blowing and drifting snow, along with falling snow, will create blizzard conditions in many areas.
Non-Essential travel should be postponed until weather conditions improve. Road closures are possible.
There is still some uncertainty with the exact track of the system, so additional forecasts may be required to adjust snowfall amounts if necessary.
