Conditions for Halloween night will be fairly mild for Trick or Treating, however some rain showers are expected across the region through the evening hours. The rain looks to be intermittent for most areas, so the entire evening won't be a washout, however roadways and sidewalks will likely remain wet.
Additionally, there will be the potential for some thunderstorms or isolated lightning strikes through the evening hours. Any area may see torrential downpours, so a raincoat may not be a bad addition to any costume!
The second contender for the evening will be the wind. Our updated Wind Outlook for this evening shows that much of Southwestern Ontario, the GTA, and Eastern Ontario will see wind gusts of 60 to 70 km/h. Midwestern and Central Ontario are expected to see wind gusts of 50 to 60 km/h, and Central Ontario towards Northern Ontario is expected to see wind gusts of 40 to 50 km/h.
We hope everyone heading out to Trick or Treat has an enjoyable night! Ensure you wear reflective clothing, slow down when driving, and stay on the sidewalk if possible when walking.
