Very Low Risk for Severe Weather Monday

There will be a Very Low risk for severe weather this evening in Deep Southwestern Ontario. The main time frame will be between 7 PM and 11 PM.


Thunderstorms will move into the area this evening, with the main hazards in the Very Low risk area including torrential downpours, wind gusts up to 80 km/h, and the risk for a weak landspout tornado. Small hail 1 to 2 centimetres in diameter cannot be ruled out. There will also be the potential for flooding.


These thunderstorms are expected to fizzle out or weaken as they move into the Non-Severe risk area. In this area, hazards will include the risk for torrential downpours and some strong wind gusts.

Very Low (Green)

Locations: Amherstburg, Belle River, Colchester, Comber, Essex, Harrow, Kingsville, LaSalle, Lakeshore, Leamington, Pelee Island, Point Pelee National Park, Staples, Stoney Point, Tecumseh, Tilbury, Wheatley and Windsor

Threats: Rainfall of 40 to 60 millimetres, torrential downpours, the risk for a weak landspout tornado, wind gusts up to 80 km/h, hail 1 to 2 centimetres in diameter, and flooding.


Non-Severe (Seafoam)

Locations: Blenheim, Bothwell, Brigden, Chatham, Corunna, Dealtown, Dover Centre, Dresden,Erie Beach, Erieau, Grande Pointe, Highgate, Merlin, Mitchell's Bay, Mooretown, Oil City, Oil Springs, Petrolia, Port Alma, Ridgetown, Rondeau Park, Sarnia, Sombra, Thamesville, Wallaceburg, Wilkesport and Wyoming

Threats: Rainfall of 20 to 40 millimetres, strong wind gusts below 80 km/h and torrential downpours.
