As a system moves through the region, Sunday will bring periods of rain and strong wind gusts throughout the day.

Rainfall will begin moving in late Saturday into Sunday morning, and will bring periods of rainfall throughout the day. Some thunderstorms will be possible overnight Saturday into Sunday, and there will be the risk for some thunderstorms on Sunday. The main threats will be lightning, heavy rainfall, and the potential for some strong wind gusts within thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts are expected to be around 10 to 30 millimetres at this time. Watch for ponding on roadways.

Additionally, strong wind gusts will begin developing early Sunday morning and will continue through the day. The strongest wind gusts are expected to be 70 to 80 km/h, affecting much of the region. The exception will be in Eastern Ontario, where wind gusts of 60 to 70 km/h are expected. Some areas along the Lake Huron shoreline may see wind gusts over 80 km/h at times. Ensure loose objects are secured or brought inside. The strong wind gusts may lead to power outages or cause tree branches to fall.

Gale Warnings have been issued for Lake Erie and Lake Huron. Environment Canada states that winds of 35 knots (64 km/h) are expected Sunday.
