UPDATE: Major Winter Storm continues Monday Night

Updated: Feb 15, 2021

The first major winter storm of the season will continue in Southwestern Ontario tonight.

In most areas, 20 to 30 cm is expected, with totals possibly being greater in some areas. Winds gusting to near 70 km/h will create blizzard-like conditions across the region. Travel is not advised.

Above is our Winter Storm Outlook for this storm. There is a Moderate risk for most of the region, and a High risk for the Niagara and Hamilton region. The main threats for this winter storm will be heavy snow, blowing snow, poor travel conditions and wind chill.

Shown above is the Winter Storm Severity Index (WSSI) from the Weather Prediction Center (WPC) in the United States. The forecast does not cover Canada, but it shows a major impact for most regions around Southwestern Ontario, which can be interpreted in our region as well.

School bus cancellations are possible on Tuesday morning. Details will be posted on our Bus Info page.
