Via Rail workers have issued a 72-hour strike notice, as posted on Unifor's website.
If an agreement is not reached by Monday, July 11, 2022 at 12:01 am, more than 2,000 maintenance workers, on-board service personnel, chefs, sales agents and customer service staff will be on the picket lines.
Via Rail has warned that if both sides fail to make a deal, all services will be suspended for the duration of the strike until operations can be safely resumed, causing major issues across Canada.
Via Rail has also stated that affected customers may change their reservations at no cost, or can request a full refund for any unused tickets.
